A friend of mine sent me the link to a short video some time ago. The beginning was quite ordinary - a typical post soviet town, boring provincial surrounding, half-wrecked buildings… After a minute or so to my surprise I realized this was my own home town, Daugavpils. Ok, now it became more interesting to see what that video was about. And as a matter of fact it turned out to be extremely fascinating: a few young guys were doing amazing Le Parkour (free-runners) stunts, and it was as twice as amazing to see this stuff on the street of my God-forsaken town.
I always respect quality in whatever people do, and these guys are a pure quality. I mean, I really admire what they are doing, cause I know it would not take me longer then a week to get myself broken from the moment I decided to do free-running :) So i limit myself to a gym and a swimming pool (where by the way I have already managed to knock myself a few times :)
A couple of weeks ago I returned from the short holidays back home. Things haven’t changed much… Still the same grey and uninspiring place. But still so sweet to meet some old friends… Sweeter than ever :)
