Last night me and Veronika went to see the new installment of Harry Potter at O2 Arena. it was our first visit to the infamous Millennium Dome and I also made sure to book tickets to see it in the claimed to be biggest screen in UK :) The movie was great! We are not much into sorcery and witchcraft, but we do miss a touch of magic and adventures in our too ordinary lives. So here you got plenty of both.

The good thing is that the movie gets better and better every time. Darker, and more adult as the characters grow up. And this is another exciting thing - to watch the actors growing up. You see how they gradually transform themselves from the cute and innocent kids in the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone seven years ago into young adults in the latest part. It feels almost like the Truman Show.

Helena Bonham Carter was a rather creepy character, but this is quite her style, but Gary Oldman was absolutely handsome. Was it really necessary for him to die? :(

We also took pictures of ourselves with another famous family in the theater’s lounge. Roll-over to see Veronika there ;)

Someone sent around the office the link to the Simpsons movie website where you can create the Simpsons character of yourself, so people start replying and sending their “portraits”. Shame it did not sweep over the whole office, but we had few good shots anyway. So, here we have (the top one, from left to right): three developers and a producer (that black guy is actually a white guy from South Africa).

This one depicts our project managers, SEO girl and a designer (the guy).

I had noticed that most of the girls had problem finding the “picture download” button on the Simpsons website (it was not too obvious, to be fare), so I replied to everyone with email saying:
“From what we can see, girls can’t find Download button, so do screen shots instead :)
Probably, bad usability…”

I had an instant reply from one of the girls:
“I have to protest… I found the download fine ;)”

Ahaaa, I thought, gotcha! My reply was so obvious:
“Oh common, you are a developer!”

The war is on, the war is on, I thought. Something to spice up the office boredom. But… nope, it was over right there… Well, it was 2 minutes to 6 already.

So I encourage you to go the www.simpsonsmovie.com and do it for yourself. It’s a good fun. By the way, the guy on the left is me (when I’m tanned :)
