A few days ago someone in the office sent everyone a discount voucher. 30% off at Gap. Not bad. I was thinking of buying myself a coat, so it might be very handy.

The next day another email came. How about 60% off? Hmm, that sounds even better. Though suspicious. Quite suspicious. People started asking if it was fake (and it was indeed :).

And then even more generous invitation arrived. And this time it was not even suspicious anymore. (this time is was “in-house” designed).

And it did not take long until everyone received the final invitation. I would not even bother going to the store with this one …:)

I was reading few articles about web sites optimization today and found out that most of the browsers are limited to just 2 simultaneous component downloads per page (which basically means that if there are 20 images on a page, browser makes 10 requests to download 2 images at a time rather than dowloading them all at once). As the same time browsers ARE capable of more simultaneous downloads and the good news is you can adjust the browser settings yourself. At least in some of them.

Changing it in IE is a bit of pain, read about it at Microsoft help and support page, but if you Firefox user, it cant be simplier : type about:config and then choose network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server and put in your desirable number. But don’t go crazy though, as it might dramatically increase browser’s CPU usage. So be sensible :)

I’ve run a test with 8 simultaneous downloads on a image heavy page, and it gave me an about 3 times increase of speed. Not bad :) I still don’t know how to change these setting in Safari, so if someones know how to do it, I would be happy to learn.

I’ve been playing Halo 3 on Xbox quite a lot last couple of weekends, and maaan, this game is amazing. I was particularly enjoying some of its music. So here is my favorite bit. It literally carries me away. (And makes me want to play again : )

Busy times. I have managed to launch another website recently and have created poster and flyers  for the upcoming concert of Crow choir. It’s a mini promotional website, I mean it is really “mini” :) I designed it so everything sits on a single page, and all you need is to scroll it down. And I quite like the result :)
