Happy New Year everyone!
Hope you enjoyed a great one. The end of the this year was not bad for me at all, I guess :)
I had a 1.5 week long holiday and spent it here, in London. We decided not to go anywhere abroad this time, but to take it easy and rather spend some cash on winter sales ;)
We also went to see Beauty and the beast in our local theater and Beowulf in 3D at Imax. I actually enjoyed Beowulf a lot, though had heard some not very good reviews. But here is the secret - you go to the movie theater and don’t expect anything great and truly outstanding to happen, and then Boom! the film actually exceeds your expectations and you are enjoying it. Works for me in most of the movies. Though, yeah, there were few ones when nothing could really help :) There were definitely some flaws, but still 3D was amazing. So i would definitely recommend. In 3D if you can. (But don’t forget not to expect anything good, just like I just taught you ;)
I’d missed our company’s xmas party. It was a week before Christmas, and I happened to be back home in Latvia, but when I came back there was a surprise waiting for me - I had won the Best Dressed Male of the Year award :) Well, second year in a row ;) Don’t think that people are dressed badly at pod1 though ;)
This December I also got monthly sort-of-”best employee”-award (whooohooo, some extra cash :). But the best thing of all that I was promoted to the Front-End Development Manager. So yeah, good year :)
Tonight we are celebrating with some of our friends (and some completely new faces on horizon) in £4.5 million flat in central London, and I realize that this is quite like the place we are comfortable to be in :) Though to be completely honest, it’s not worthy those money, hehe. London… London…
Looking forward to what new year of 2008 is about to bring. Still working on my resolutions. And expecting something great. This time it’s not like in the movie, you MUST expect great stuff. And yeah, work hard. Actually much harder then ever before :)
Have a great one!
